During the learning process, many children need some help in order to perform a range of skills.
In therapy, the provision of such help is called prompting that means inducing the person to perform a desired behaviour by presenting a prompt. Prompts are like crutches; they are a kind of artificial support.
Hence, when independence is targeted, these need to be faded out systematically. The effective use of prompts and ways of gradually reducing their strength (fading) is the topic of this seminar.
